DESCRIPTION:Helpers\, \nA reminder that our next Helper’s prayer gathering is on Saturday October 6\, 2018.  If you need a ride\, please call me at 812-841-0060. 40 Days for Life is from September 26 to November 4.  We will be responsible for 40 Days for Life coverage from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM this Saturday.  Many times we can leave early because someone else has picked up an hour; however\, we should always plan on coverage from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM. \nNext Helpers Gathering Details \nOur next Gathering is Saturday October 6\, 2018 at Planned Parenthood in Bloomington\, Indiana.  Our itinerary follows: \n\n6:45  AM – Pickup anyone that requires transportation and depart Terre Haute\n8:30 AM – Mass at St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Bloomington\, Indiana located at 2222 E 3rd Street Bloomington\, IN 47401. (This is a 57 mile trip and takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes)\n9:15 AM — Gather at Planned Parenthood 421 S. College Ave.\, Bloomington\, IN for Helpers of God’s Precious Infant Prayer Vigil and Divine Mercy Chaplet at Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center 8220 W State Road 48\, Bloomington\, IN 47804\n10:15 AM – Complete prayers and switch hats to 40 Days for Life Shifts\n2:00 PM – Depart Planned Parenthood\n3:30 PM – Should arrive back in Terre Haute\n\nIf you plan on carpooling or have any other questions please call 812-841-0060. DESCRIPTION:Dear Friends of Life\, \nIf possible\, please consider supporting the unborn by promoting the Terre Haute Life Chain.  Attached is a flyer for the 2018 Terre Haute Life Chain.  We are a group of Respect for Life people that do not request funding but encourage people to witness and stand up for the least among us\, the children in the womb.  The Indiana State Department of Health Terminated Pregnancy Report for 2017 was released this July shows that not only did abortions increase significantly in Vigo County\, but also abortions  increased significantly in the State of Indiana. \nTerre Haute Life Chain History \nIn 1992\, a group of local Pro-Lifers organized a prayerful protest against Faye Wattleton\, the then president of Planned Parenthood Federation\, when she was invited as a guest speaker at local university.  The prayerful protest carried over to become the Terre Haute Life Chain.  This is the twenty-seventh Terre Haute Life Chain as we join over 1950 other locations to form the 31st National Life Chain. \nThank you for defending the unborn! \nSincerely\, \nTom McBroom \n812-841-0060

Following that\, we will travel 8 minutes up the road to St. Madeira Archaic\, where we will tour at 2:30 pm. We should return to Terre Haute around 8 pm. DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, October 25th we’ll be helping Catholic Charities by placing their “Share Your Thanksgiving” barrels at various locations throughout Terre Haute and the surrounding area. If you are able to help please report to Catholic Charities Food Bank at 12 pm. The Food Bank is located at 14th & Locust here in Terre Haute. \nIdeally\, we’ll have 2 or 3 teams of Knights available so we can split up the list of drop off locations and get the barrels out as quickly as possible. \nIf you have a pickup truck available that can haul barrels that would be a great help also. It will take a few hours to get all of the barrels placed.

(This is a 57 mile trip and takes approximately\n1 hour and 15 minutes)\n\n9:15 AM — Gather at Planned Parenthood 421 S. College Ave.\, Bloomington\, IN for\nHelpers of God’s Precious Infant Prayer Vigil and Divine Mercy Chaplet at Mother of\nthe Redeemer Retreat Center 8220 W State Road 48\, Bloomington\, IN 47804\n\n10:15 AM – Complete prayers and switch hats to 40 Days for Life Shifts\n\n2:00 PM – Depart Planned Parenthood\n\n3:30 PM – Should arrive back in Terre Haute\n\nIf you plan on carpooling or have any other questions please call 812-841-0060.\n\nTerre Haute Life Chain\n\nThanks for all your prayers and support for the Terre Haute Life Chain will be on\nSunday October 7\, 2018.  The good news is that we had 43 participants the most\nin the last three years.  This was Life Chain number 15 as a coordinator.  The yearly\naverage for Terre Haute is 65 participates with our highest year at 132 in 2008. Most\nparticipants were from St. Patrick Parish and St. Joseph University Parish.\n\nArchdiocese of Indianapolis Bishop O’Meara Respect for Life Award\n\nJust want to thank everyone for their prayers and support of my Respect for Life\nministry work.  I was quite surprised when I was informed that I was nominated and\nselected for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Bishop O’Meara Respect for Life Award\,\nespecially since I received the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Sanctity of Life Award in\nspring 2011.\n\nThis award could easily been given to Monica Siefker from St Johns Parish in Bloomington\,\nor Marian Leahy from St. Charles Borromeo in Bloomington.  Other Helpers of God’s\nPrecious Infants that could also have been given the award is Chris Mulvihill from Holy\nRosary in Seelyville\, Pat Cole from  St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Bedford\, Jack Slaby\nfrom Saint Patrick in Terre Haute\, or Ned Wenstrup from Immaculate Heart of Mary in Cincinnati.\n\nA big thank-you to my two Respect for Life mentors\, Monsignor Larry Moran and Sister\nDiane Carollo\, for the many years of Spiritual Direction\, prayers\, and support.\n\nThank you all for your prayers and support.\n\nSpread your love for life\,\n\nTom of the Holy Family\n\nMissionary Servants of the Gospel of Life\n\n——–\n\nThe Helpers of God’s Precious Infants are a group of people committed to maintaining\na loving and prayerful presence outside of the abortion mills\, where God’s children are\nput to death. We unite ourselves with these victims in solidarity with their pain\, as they\nare put to death at this modern day Calvary. We pray in reparation for the injustice being\nperformed on their tiny bodies. Just as Mary and John lovingly stood and prayed beneath\nJesus’ Cross as he died\, we wish to remain with these children in the hour that they are\ncrucified.   Most of all\, we love the unborn children who will be brought there that day. SUMMARY:Marian Prayer Service Color Guard
DESCRIPTION:Sir Knights;\n\nCombining the Order’s devotion to Mary and it’s efforts to protect and defend persecuted Christians in the Middle East and throughout the world\, a featured Faith in Action activity is the Marian Prayer Program. Indiana has received two icons of Our Lady Help of Persecuted Christians which will make pilgrmages to every council in the state as the centerpiece of special prayer services at our parishes.\n\nThe very first Marian Prayer Service to Our Lady Help of Persecuted Christians will be conducted by Father John Hollowell at St. Paul the Apostle in Greencastle on Sunday\, November 18. The prayer service will be at 1 pm.\n\nFollowing the 11 am Mass\, Council 6989 will host a lunch and the prayer service will begin at 1 pm.  The service will be approximately 45 minutes. An invitation will\nalso be issued to Archbishop Thompson inviting him to attend and State Deputy Paul Zielinski will attend.\n\nWe request an honor guard to process the icon into the prayer service. The icon is very impressive\, gold framed and approximately four feet tall.  An invitation is also\nissued to the members of the Assembly to fully participate in the prayer service. This is an oppoprtunity to witness to the faith and actions of our Order.\n\nThanking you for all your support.
